The soup that replaces blood.

It's Korean tradition to have Ddeuk Guk (rice cake soup) on New Year's day but my mom always made Mi Ok Guk (seaweed soup) instead. Traditionally, this is eaten on birthdays and after women give birth(the seaweed is supposed to replenish the iron lost due to bleeding). In case 2012 decides to bleed me, I will ready myself by eating the soup tonight.
